Façons contre façons, protocol, performance, 2018

Performers are asked to spend time and to interact with the artist for an extended period of time. During these moments they are observing the artist and learning his non-verbal language (movements, attitudes, gestures, mimics...)

During the presentation of the work, the performers re-act the body language of the artist and overlap it with their own habitual actions.

The work is announced but not pointed out, creating a circulation of gaze among the public, paying attention to the usually unnoticed behaviour of the artist and other persons of the audience.

(Thanks to Lola Martins-Coignus and Shankar Lestréhan for these pictures and the first activation of the work during the exhibition On a bien accroché)
